Instructions for authors

The Journal of Research in Physical Education, Sport and Health (RPESH) promotes an OPEN ACCESS – OPEN PEER REVIEW SYSTEM, aiming to select the best manuscripts for publication.

This system ensures total transparency and collaboration between authors and reviewers, addressing any non-compliant elements. The final decision is made by the editor, based on discussions and clarifications between the author and reviewer, and the final report on the manuscript.

Editorial Standards and Review System

The Research in Physical Education, Sport and Health (RPESH) journal upholds rigorous editorial standards and employs a double-blind peer-review system to ensure objectivity and fairness. This process ensures that both the authors and reviewers remain anonymous to each other, fostering an unbiased evaluation of the manuscripts.

Review Process

The review process follows these steps:

  1. Editorial Pre-selection: Articles are evaluated by the editorial team to determine their suitability for the journal and adherence to submission requirements.
  2. Double-Blind Peer Review: Selected manuscripts are reviewed by experts in the relevant field. Reviewers assess the manuscript without knowing the identity of the authors, and authors are not informed about the identity of the reviewers.
  3. Final Decision: The editor mediates between authors and reviewers, clarifies necessary revisions, and makes the ultimate decision to accept or reject the manuscript based on reviewer feedback and compliance with journal standards.

Possible Review Outcomes

Manuscripts submitted to RPESH are subject to one of the following outcomes:

  1. Rejection due to severe deficiencies in writing, content, or theme.
  2. Acceptance without modifications.
  3. Acceptance with minor modifications.
  4. Acceptance only after major revisions.

The decision will be communicated to the authors in an anonymous form.

Evaluation Protocol

Manuscripts are evaluated according to the following criteria:

  1. Originality of the Investigation – 20 points
  2. Scientific Topicality – 15 points
  3. Applicability to Current Practice – 15 points
  4. Design Quality of the Study – 10 points
  5. Quality of Results – 10 points
  6. Clarity and Depth of Discussions – 10 points
  7. Clarity of Conclusions – 10 points
  8. Accuracy of Citations and References – 5 points
  9. Language Quality – 5 points

Manuscripts scoring below 50 points will be rejected, while those scoring above 70 points will be accepted. Articles scoring between 50–70 points require punctual modifications before a final decision is made.
