Morphological status of the athlete represents one’s identity card on the basis of which he or she can be assigned to a particular constitutional type, and one also gets information about his or her body height, body weight, BMI and even age analysis. There are different constitutional types in sport and they are important in terms of targeting, selection and performance in a specific sport. This is evident especially in athletics sports where within athletics there are different constitutional types of athletes, required by certain disciplines. This paper analyzes the morphological status of the female athletes in the throwing disciplines at the Olympic Games in Beijing, in 2008. The survey includes 32 female athletes who have performed in the finals and following variables were measured to assess the morphological status: body height, body weight, Body Mass Index and competitors age. Basic statistical parameters were applied to perform descriptive analysis of the applied variables of the female contestants based on which certain conclusions were drawn.
