Aleksandar Simeonov, Zoran Radich, Aleksandar Rakovich, Astrit Iseni

The research has been conducted on a sample of 200 male subjects in total further divided into two sub-samples: academic generation 2004/05 (N=100) and academic generation 2008/09 (N=100). The sample of subjects for this research was comprised of students in their second year of studies at the Faculty of Physical Education – Skopje. Our interest in this research was focused on determining the difference between these two academic generations in the aspect of morphology, motor abilities and the success in the athletic pentathlon, which is a part of the student’s examinations in May. For the purposes of the research we have used 14 variables in assessing the morphological structure, 16 variables in assessing the motor abilities and the athletic discipline part of the athletic pentathlon – shot put. The results of the research indicate that the determined differences in the morphological characteristics and motor tests between the two sub-samples will allow us to gain further understanding of the morphological structure of the students, i.e. what type of structure should a student have in order to succeed in the discipline of athletic pentathlon – shot put. Furthermore, it allows us to understand which motor abilities the students possess and determine appropriate motor tests to be used in the preparation period in order to achieve the best possible results in the discipline of shot put.
