The primary goal of this research is to establish relationships and influences of anthropometry, basic and specific motor abilities on the success in freestyle swimming technique, based on relationships and results, as well as to determine the model characteristics categorizing crawl technique of elite swimmers for the complete assembly of the measured variables (anthropometry, basic and specific motor abilities). The set standards for all measured variables, produced by grouping the results in 11 classes, will be a support for a more precise diagnosis of initial, transitive and final state of the swimmers in the selection and identification of potential elite swimmers. Measurements were carried out on a sample of 43 categorized elite swimmers from all over Croatia. The examinees were male, medically controlled and clinically healthy. Measurements were carried out in the Diagnostic Centre, Faculty of Kinesiology, SWC pool "Mladost" Zagreb. Model values were obtained in all variables, and the results were calculated for 11 levels in which it is possible to classify any of the swimmers, tested using the same tests and methods. With the implemented regression analysis, the most influential features and capabilities were obtained, allowing the performance of a hypothetical equation specification, which finds its place in the education of teachers, professors and swimming coaches, as a framework and simplified relationship between these capabilities on the quality of the results of swimming.
